Use this page to jump fast to any of the galleries presented in this department.
Each galactic galary listed by name below can be accessed by clicking on
the button associated with that page. You probably already knew that.
Interesting note: (if you're interested)
As is the same for all four departments of DRAGONOPOLIS, a Table of Contents page comes after
an introductory main page. This allows the TOC to contain a listing that includes itself.
Speaking philosophically (and metaphorically), this is big deal because the best maps are those
that contain a map of the map itself. Although this sounds like gibberish, it's actually a salient
observation that is addressed by one or more essays found in NOUMENOMICON.
The basic idea is that a map details a given territory, but not necessarily where that territory is itself located.
For example, even a global map still omits the universe in which the world is found. If translated into
our perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors regarding the world, the case is made that the more objective
our viewpoint, meaning inclusive of what is typically excluded, the less we're inclined to act upon
false, incomplete, or intentionally deceptive information. This is the kind of stuff they talk about at
The Institute of General Semantics, the link to which can be found on the Lynx page listed under Directory.
