The Lounge and Visitor Reading Room
The Lounge is provided for guests who might wish to rest their tired feet (or eyes) and learn more about who I am, why the strange names are used for the site, and what the site itself attempts to be, say, and do.
In a way, DRAGONOPOLIS is an encapsulation of everything (more like bits and pieces) I've ever produced over a span of nearly fifty years. The various materials found in these pages are as much memoirs as an exercise in showing-off, or e-commerce. This "Mall and Emporium" as I like to call it, is my way of sharing some of what I've discovered during my stay here (on Earth). As a result of the revelations gained via a few epiphanies here and there, both my artistic and literary talents, be that as they may, allowed me to convey my impressions of the world, to the world. Given the global nature of the internet, my expressed desire is now a reality, or at least potentially so.
Though admittedly a bit chesty on my part, the department I refer to as NOUMENOMICON is where I have attempted to combine and convert the twin areas of art and literature into a third, purely philosophical realm. With an almost masochistic fervor, I was never quite satisfied with "wearing my heart on my sleeve" artistically, or indulging my intellect purely by way of fictional novels. We live in a world where, because of language, there is as much to say about the world as there is to do things in it. Unless "thinking" is viewed as doing something, which I think it is. No pun intended. NOUMENOMICON, then, is my way of spouting off about the stuff that interests me, or has in the past and continues to pique my attention.
In the meantime, put your feet up, kick back, click on the next section entitled "Dragonopolis?" and delve deeper into the mind (and neurosis) of your host. In the section after that, you'll find a brief autobiographical overview (sometimes it is all about just you). Your visit to the Lounge concludes with my explanation of the overall philosophy behind all the color and blustery on parade, so to speak. As always, I am as much a servant-to-the-cause as I am a purveyor of pretty pictures, books, and posters. Life has always struck me as being this eternal wrestling match (more a duel among gladiators) where Fun, Joy, and Birth are constantly battling with Tragedy, Injustice, and Death over supremacy of the human spirit. There's some of each to be found here. In my world view, Fun and Joy are winning the fight, but the struggle is far from over. I hear the sound of the ringside bell. Time to move on to the next section.
